Karol Cortés
Postdoctoral Researcher, CIRAD | APIICC Project: WP2, WP3 & WP4, fieldwork in Mexico and comparative analyses across all project sites
A PhD in political science from Sciences Po Lyon, she is a postdoctoral researcher at CIRAD, within the ART-Dev Joint Research Unit, as part of the international APIICC project. She contributes to Work Packages (WP) 2, 3, and 4, participating in research and fieldwork conducted in Mexico, as well as data analysis and comparative analyses carried out across all research sites of the project. Her research lies at the intersection of the sociology of expertise, the sociology of collective action, and environmental governance. It focuses on the relational dynamics between experts, institutional actors, and social mobilizations in environmental conflicts, paying particular attention to forms of intermediation and the strategic positions occupied by actors within governance networks. Her work is primarily situated in the Latin American context, notably in Colombia, Chile, and, more recently, Mexico.
