PhD student, University of Montpellier / CIRAD | APIICC Project: fieldwork in Gabon (WP2 & WP3)

I am a doctoral candidate in Political Science at the University of Montpellier, affiliated with the ART-DEV Joint Research Unit (CIRAD). My research focuses on the governance of agro-climatic instruments in Gabon. I am particularly interested in the styles of agro-climatic policy development and implementation, the influence of political regimes on their governance, and the analysis of public policy networks to understand the system of relationships between the actors involved in policy implementation. Within the APPIICC project, I am the fieldwork coordinator for Gabon. At the national level, I analyze institutional innovation within the National Land Allocation Commission (CNAT), a non-financial procedural instrument. In a country where nearly 80% of the territory is covered by forests, this coordination mechanism brings together actors from several ministries involved in land allocation. It aims to optimize the allocation of forest areas between different uses (agricultural, forestry or other development activities), while contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through forest protection.
