Vicente Ugalde Saldaña
Professor at El Colegio de México | APIICC Project: Co-lead for Mexico (WP2 & WP3)
A professor and researcher at El Colegio de México and a member of the National Research System (SNI), level 3, he holds a law degree, a master's degree in urban studies, a postgraduate diploma (DEA) in public administration, and a doctorate in law from Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University. He also holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Paris-Sorbonne University (Paris IV) and completed a master's degree in law at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. His research focuses primarily on metropolitan governance, environmental policies, the legalization of the environment, and socio-environmental conflicts, themes that structure all of his publications. He teaches courses in Government and Local Politics, Public Policy Analysis, and Political Ecology. He has been a visiting professor at the University of Montreal, the Center for European Studies and Comparative Politics at Sciences Po Paris, and the University of Tours. He was also a member of the Editorial Board of the Revista Administración Pública of INAP, the Editorial Board of CIESAS and the Editorial Board of the journal Espacialidades. Author of more than sixty scientific articles and book chapters, he coordinated Gobernando la Ciudad de México with Patrick Le Galès; Between conflict and consultation. Managing waste in France, Italy and Mexico with Luigi Bobbio and Patrice Melé; Government, territory and population: public policies in the world with Silvia Giorguli; as well as El derecho ambiental en action.
